Please view a small sample of my projects. Upon requests, I can provide full case studies on each project.
This application has two different versions, a client side(credit request) and an internal(credit approvers) for a shipping crate company. The client side has an easy step by step process to request credit lines. The internal side is for the credit providers to approve their portions and send it up for the different approvers. Upon login, both users will be given a to-do list to let them know exactly what steps to take to complete their work.
Web and Tablet. User Experience. Prototype. User Testing. This job was to minimize the checkout process from a six step process to a three. I put in simple rationality and used math. The content was condensed to a two column grid to show the user more options before the fold. The steps are a Shopping Cart, Check-Out, Shipping and Payment, Review, and Confirmation. Once we recieved approvals on the comps, I implemented html and css to build out this development. The full scope was to develop all this to work in various media platforms from desktop to mobile.
UX. UI. Iconagraphy. Web Development. This proposal is to help grocery store clients a fun, simple, and interactive way to be able to tally their shopping cart as well as promote sales with recommended coupons based on whats in their shopping cart.
Redesign. Innovation. Prototype. This company wanted a reboot on their internal social media app. Only employees has access to this and the main point for this is for the current employees to pass on knowledge and experiences. The landing page is meant for users to look up blogs for certain related topics, as well as to connect and comment their fellow employees.
Redesign. Wireframe. UI, UX, Prototype.A modern approach to E-learning. A flat colored design was chosen to give the users a smooth experience from watching Videos, navigation quizzes, and completing case studies.
Interested in music in your local pub and venue? A love for the upcoming bands? As a user, this app allows you to look up a set radius for which indie band is around you. You can categorize your local favorites, order tickets or reserve tables. On who provides the content, both the venue and bands are allowed to update their content to keep everything current as well as tracking how many people come.
Vendors now have an easy on the go checklist for thier on field employees to be able to take orders from stores, check inventory, as well as an intinerary to help them be more efficient.
Applying professional and academic approaches has helped groom me into a robust problem solver. I use an academic approach that goes over Research (contextual/behavior), Insight (interpret/understand), concept (ideate/iterate), and Design (the experience). User Experience embraces a multidisciplinary approach.
In this phase, we understand the business context and start narrowing down the key targets (users) for the product. Wrapping our head around the product is key to have a good base to build off. Establishing boundaries with collaborators and other stakeholders is key to understanding everyone roles to start pushing our research forward. Understanding our stakeholders (this includes users) and human behavior is crucial for the culture to promote proper solutions. I keep in mind that users aren’t designers, so taking a step back to contextualize their experiences helps drive solutions that will have higher success in live scenarios. A few methods to be able to establish research to build off of are contextual interviews, surveys, diary studies, prototypes, user testing, etc.
Once our research data is collected, we move forward and interpret the data through a variety of methods. A few of these methods to create tangible content for design includes but is not subject to: Stationary (mood boards, quotes, notes overview), common project spaces (colleague meetings), affinity mapping (group reviews, scope refinement, themes, opportunities), personas, and user stories.
Upon analyzing from our previous step, we used the tangible direction to create a design solution. This step is crucial to work with users to ensure that they are best represented in a way where they can fulfill their desired tasks. This phase, we explore options, sketch, validate, prototype, and refine ideas. As the design advances and lands on a solution, it gets moved towards a prototyping phase to test out our ideas with our end users. The benefits of this stage is that we can quickly determine if an idea will work inexpensively, focus on one item at a time, consider different options, and bring our client along in this journey before any finished product gets presented to them.
The final stage of formulating of the design (and development) stage of this UX process. This essentially embarks on the first release of the product (or feature) after we established a confidence in our choices that are supported in the previous stages. Areas that I use in this stage is designing using a prototyping tool, creating style guides, and creating front end templates for components. In this stage, I verify and finalize the visual design elements, content, navigational structures, technical testing, and usability.
I deeply appreciate you taking the time to overview my site. I am based out of Trabuco Canyon and I am currently a full-time designer practicing Product Development with emphasis in User Experience. It has been a robust experience designing and growing with a multitude of products for the past seven years. Outside of design, I am a husband (to Jaclyn), a father (to Scarlett and Alexandria), a friend (to anyone willing to drink coffee and whisky).
