Mobile App Redesign
As the sole product designer on the mobile initiative for a leading real estate marketplace, I led the redesign of their outdated app and introduced a systemized design framework to streamline development and enhance the user experience.

Problem Statement
The existing mobile app for the real estate marketplace was built on outdated design practices, resulting in a fragmented user experience and inefficient development workflows. Users struggled with inconsistent navigation, poor accessibility, and a lack of modern UI patterns, while developers faced challenges maintaining a non-systemized, hard-coded interface. The lack of a scalable design approach increased technical debt and limited the ability to iterate quickly or deliver a cohesive experience across screens.

Solution
To modernize the mobile experience, I introduced an atomic design system that brought structure, consistency, and scalability to the product. This system defined clear component hierarchies—atoms, molecules, and organisms—that streamlined both design and development workflows.

I partnered closely with engineering to ensure the system was mirrored in Storybook, a frontend development framework that enabled visual consistency and faster implementation. In addition, I created a roadmap for phased rollout across product teams, aligning design and development efforts with quarterly goals to ensure successful adoption throughout the fiscal year.

Outcomes
Key Wins / Impact
- 60% reduction in design-to-dev handoff time due to reusable Figma components and Storybook integration
- 40% fewer design inconsistencies across mobile screens after systemized rollout
- 2× faster development velocity for new features using Storybook-based components
- 100% adoption of the design system across all mobile product teams within 2 quarters
- 30+ components documented and implemented using atomic design principles
- Reduced QA churn by 25%, thanks to standardized UI behaviors and consistent interaction patterns
- Improved accessibility compliance by addressing color contrast, tap targets, and screen reader labels across key flows
